The YMCA of Greater Brandywine welcomed Rich Przywara as their new Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Przywara was the Senior Vice President for Operations at Ashley Addiction Treatment in Maryland prior to joining the Y, but he is a familiar face in the Chester County area. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the West Chester University Foundation and Student Housing, a position he held for more than 10 years. In this role, he excelled in both fundraising for the University and the operations of four student housing units (3,000 beds) of which he secured the funding, oversaw the construction and then led the operations and maintenance.
Mr. Przywara also spent time as the General Manager of the Department of Special Services for New Castle, Delaware, during which time he also served as the first Chief of Staff to County Executive Chris Coons, now a U.S. Senator. In his extensive career, Mr. Przywara has nine years of YMCA experience with the YMCA of Central Maryland as the Executive Director of the Harford County and White Marsh YMCAs and he also served the YMCA of Delaware as Director of Financial Development after a successful start as the Director of Youth Development
